Global Guidebook | Russell Investments | In-House
This document was a tour de force for both Russell Investments and Mirror-Doc. We helped them assemble it four years in a row, until Russell came under new management. The process extended over months – beginning with the creation of an outline of the document, with empty-content pages for the different countries and summaries, into which multiple authors entered data for the tables, graphs and maps as it was compiled. Multiple production rounds were needed to stay within the timeline, and yet constantly incorporate the newest data as it became available. Ultimately, the final piece was available for download as PDF as well as 4-color printed book format. The final piece was over 100 pages...

Tektronix is a leading supplier of test instrumentation for engineers focused on electronic design, manufacturing, and advanced technology development. And it's contracted award-winning Turnstyle Studios to design and manage its brand. Over the years, Turnstyle and Mirror-Doc have together developed more than a dozen high-design, yet user-friendly, templates which keep all of Tektronix communications (both internal and external) brand-aligned and simply gorgeous.
Unique Working Documents
PROCESS gUIDE + tOOLKIT | RRD Design | World Health Organization
This document is one hard-working tool. It supports organizations in collecting information necessary for the World Health Organization to do its good work. The document guides the various users in South Africa in understanding the how's and why's of collecting the data. Ultimately, each end-user copies and pastes formatted questionaire boilerplate from the appendix of this document to an empty template also provided (final two samples shown), compiling their own customized interviews perfectly aligned to their specific needs.
Newsletter Templates

Newsletters are a fabulous way to use Word templates to their fullest potential. Often, in-house or outside designers are tasked with continually flowing in the latest copy, month after month. In our experience, this is not the best use of a designer's right-leaning brain and can seem to be a kind of torture! Or worse yet, the client's admin tries to pull something together without the Word skills or the eye of a creative person. A properly-built newsletter template gives the individual responsible for the content a safe container in which to assemble a newsletter that is clean and professional.
Proposal + Report Templates

Proposal and report templates are probably the second most common templates built by Mirror-Doc, after a basic identity system, and is usually what gets clients hooked on these useful tools. A template like this can incorporate any or all of the following: cover, inside cover, table of contents, table of figures, cover letter, executive summary, main body of document, tables, sidebars, pull-quotes, image and caption placeholders, divider pages, appendices, sign-offs, back covers. All elements must work together in such a way that copy can expand or contract without upsetting the underlying structure of the page. A customized read-me, with screencaps as needed, is delivered to support the user and define best practices in terms of populating the document.

We're all familiar with the multitudinous tiny details of our health plans! This benefit summary is distributed to Parker, Smith & Feek's clients so they can populate the template with all of the specifics of their particular employees' benefits. The document expands intelligently to receive all the the data and is amenable to the deletion of irrelevant sections.
